I am trying to finish up my Review CleanUp Review Challenge for February, and have decided to write a mini review of the ARC copy of The Raven Boys.
The Raven Boys is definitely a dark book. But it's a really fun, exciting, and adventurous read. For a plot about individuals who are seers of the dead, this book ranks at the top of my list. It's definitely catchy. I loved how it grabbed me right from p. 16, "there are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark's Eve, Blue. Either you're his true love," Neeve said, "or you killed him."
Blue tries to warn Gansey (and by the way what a cool name this is, if I have a boy, I will definitely be considering this name as a choice, sounds like something from The Great Gatsby), but will Gansey believe her? And what really happens? Does she kill him? Or are they their true love?
Maggie Stiefvater is definitely one of my favorite Young Adult writers.
